Emma May Fleming, 88, formerly of Sykesville, died Tuesday, April 1, 2014, at Golden Living in Westminster.

Born Aug. 9, 1925, in Frederick County, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Walton Runkles and the late Lola May Stallings Runkles. She was the wife of Floyd C. Fleming, who died March 21, 1999.

She retired as a nurse supervisor at Springfield Hospital Center. She enjoyed sewing, macrame, camping and spending time with family.

Surviving are sons and daughters-in-law David L. and Julia Fleming, of Sykesville, and Steven E. and Lori Fleming, of Woodstock, Ga.; daughter and companion Linda M. Martin and Randy Monninger, of Littlestown, Pa.; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.

She was the last of seven siblings. She was predeceased by two great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, 6416 Sykesville Road, Sykesville.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Lake View Memorial Park.
