Emma May "Cindy" Hofferberth, 86, of Westminster, died Sunday, June 9, 2013, at Carroll Lutheran Village Healthcare Center.

Born May 24, 1927, in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late Francis Joseph and Ada May McDonnal Albrecht. She was the wife of William H. Hofferberth, her husband of 65 years.

She was a 1945 graduate of Eastern High School in Baltimore.

She was the former director of the Carroll County Farm Museum and is credited with starting the tradition of the Fourth of July fireworks. She was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church in Finksburg.

Surviving, in addition to her husband, are daughters and spouses Sherry and C. Dennis Byers, of Finksburg, Linda and William Rasmussen, of Westminster, Lisa and Richard Spotts, of New Carlisle, Ohio, and Ellen and Michael Leffler, of Davison, Mich.; grandchildren and spouses Aaron and Jennifer Byers, Amy and John Linton, Megan and Chuck Lepovetsky, Susan and Michael Guckes, Laura Spotts and Kay Rasmussen; eight great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by brothers Lambert and Francis Albrecht.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at Pritts Funeral Home & Chapel, 412 Washington Road, Westminster.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Calvary United Methodist Church, 3939 Gamber Road, Finksburg, with the Rev. Doug Hoffman officiating. Interment will follow in Providence Cemetery.
