Emma Naomi "Nonie" Pearce, 91, of Westminster, died Thursday, Aug. 15, 2013, at Long View Nursing Home in Manchester.

Born July 24, 1922, in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late James Shannon and Alice Naomi Jessop Johnson. She was the wife of the late Edward Ernest Pearce, who died in 1996.

She was a longtime member of Rosedale Baptist Church, where she was very involved in multiple ministries, including teaching Sunday School for many years. Once she moved to Westminster, she became a member of Church of the Open Door, and enjoyed the Super Sixties Ministry, as well as Pastor Campbell's Sunday School class. She was a homemaker most of her life and enjoyed babysitting, cooking, gardening, doing ceramics, being with her family and entertaining friends.

Surviving are sons and daughters-in-law Dick and Janice Oliver, of Finksburg, and Ed Jr. and Gladys Pearce, of White Hall; daughter and son-in-law Susan and Bob Voelkel, of Westminster; grandchildren Jasen Oliver, Betty Batty, Colleen Kobus, Stephen Pearce, Jeremy Voelkel and Nathan Voelkel, as well as their spouses and loved ones; great-grandchildren Justin, Ashleigh, Madison, Mackenzie, Naomi and John; and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Eline Funeral Home, 934 South Main Street, Hampstead.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. John Campbell officiating. Interment will be in Druid Ridge Cemetery in Baltimore.
