Erin Elizabeth Dean, 28, of Westminster died Wednesday, October 8, 2014 at University of Maryland Medical Center after she battled with Hodgkin's Lymphoma for five and a half years. Born February 3, 1986 she was the daughter of Daniel L. and Georgeanna W. (Weszka) Dean, Jr. of Westminster. She was a phlebotomist for Carroll Hospital Center until 2009. She enjoyed photography, and participated in track and field, especially shot-put and discuss. She was a Carroll County Track and Field Athlete of the Year in 2004. She was a member of St. John Catholic Church, the Gamma Sigma Sigma Sorority at St. Francis University in Loretto, PA and Stella Mariae Household of Franciscan University of Steubenville, OH. Surviving in addition to her parents are twin siblings and their spouses Jeremy and Katie Dean of Wichita, KS; Melinda K. and Joel Ciaccio of Ellicott City; paternal grandmother Ellen Dean of Dundalk and maternal grandmother Jean Weszka of Sykesville. She was predeceased by paternal grandfather Daniel L. Dean Sr., and maternal grandfather George F. Weszka. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 2 to 4pm and 6 to 8pm at PRITTS FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 412 Washington Rd., Westminster. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, October 13 at 11:30am at St. John Catholic Church, 43 Monroe St., Westminster with Father Brian Nolan as celebrant. Interment will be held at Meadow Ridge Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the -Maryland Chapter, 100 Painters Mill Road, Suite 800, Owings Mills, MD 21117.
