Ernest Justin Rodgers, 68, of Mount Airy, died Saturday, July 13, 2013, at Carroll Hospice's Dove House in Westminster.

Born March 10, 1945, in Washington, D.C., he was the son of the late Henry Rodgers and Sarah Mary Tarman Rodgers. He was the husband of Phyllis Gaede Rodgers.

He was a mobile operator for PEPCO for 34 years.

He was a veteran of the Army and a member of American Legion Gold Star Post 191 in Mount Airy. He enjoyed driving, listening to country music and his 1965 Ford Mustang.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a brother, Charles Rodgers; children Crystal, Eric and Louise Rodgers; a stepdaughter, Cindy Sinsky; a stepson, David Rex; grandchildren Angela Colman, Christopher, Phillip and Becky Sinsky, and April Nicole Rex; and great-grandchildren Valerie, Rachel, Katelyn, Emily and Kevin.

A gathering of friends will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, 1212 W. Old Liberty Road, Winfield.
