Estelle May Gouker Kolk, 85, of Jacksonville and New Windsor, died Thursday, April 10, 2014, at Golden Living Assisted Living in Westminster.

Born May 1, 1928, in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late Earl Stanley Gouker and Gladys Austin Gouker. She was the wife of the late Vernon F. Kolk.

She was a self-employed child care provider. She was a longtime member of St. John's Lutheran Church of Baldwin, and a member of the Jacksonville volunteer fire company ladies auxiliary. She spent her life  caring for children and giving back to the community.

Surviving are children Victor E. Sr. and Lewis Kolk; siblings Nancy Staton and Betty Sheeler; grandchildren Korina Thiabault, Shayne Francis, Kimberley Phelps, and Michael, Jaime, Victor E. Jr., Aron and James Kolk; and several great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

She was predeceased by siblings Doris Troxel, Pauline Racine, Ann Otto, Mary Shelton and Earl Gouker Jr.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, PA, 1212 W. Old Liberty Road, Sykesville.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Timothy Webster officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Finksburg.
