Esther Lee Hurlebaus Roberts, 71, of Mount Airy, formerly of Sunshine, died Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2013, at Carroll Hospice's Dove House in Westminster.

Born Dec. 4, 1941, in Sunshine, she was the daughter of the late Carl and Gladys P. Hurlebaus.

She had worked in her family owned General Store/Gas Station in Sunshine. She was a resident at Pleasant View Nursing Home in Mount Airy for the past six years.

She drove her race car at 75/80 Racetrack. She enjoyed animals and music, was an avid dancer, and she participated in church activities.

She was predeceased by an uncle, William H. "Bill" Hurlebaus.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, 1212 W. Old Liberty Road, Winfield.

Graveside and interment service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Mount Carmel Patuxent Cemetery, 3067 Mount Carmel Cemetery Road, Brookeville. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Pleasant View Nursing Home, Day Room, 4101 Old National Pike, Mount Airy, with the Rev. Blaine Cutter and the Rev. Clark Baisdon officiating.
