Mrs. Ethel Mae Bange, 83, of New Windsor and formerly of Union Bridge and Florida, died Sunday, August 31, 2014 at Carroll Hospital Center. Born May 24, 1931 in Carroll County, she was the daughter of the late Mildred Clemson Wetzel. She was the wife of Donald H. Bange who died in 2003. Mrs. Bange enjoyed family and friends, sewing and crocheting, especially afghans. Surviving are children, Barbara Bell and husband William of Lakeland, FL; Larry Bange of Harrisburg, PA and Brenda Bittle and husband Elmer of Burleson, TX; 5 grandchildren, David, Angela, Donald Jr., Rachael and Lyne-Marie; numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; a sister, Judith Wolf and John and Chris of Union Bridge; and 4 brothers, James M. Wetzel and wife Katherine and Roy C. Wetzel, all of Union Bridge; Raymond Wetzel and wife Patricia of Frizzellburg and Earl Wetzel Sr. and wife Joyce of Taneytown. She was predeceased by a son, Donald W. Bange; granddaughter, Sabrina; brother, Donald Wetzel and infants, Wayne and Truman Wetzel. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, September 4, at Hartzler Funeral Home, 6 E. Broadway, Union Bridge, with her son-in-law, Rev. Elmer Bittle, officiating. Interment will take place at a later date in Oak Hill Cemetery, Lakeland, FL. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 p.m. Thursday until time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Disabled American Veterans, P.O. Box 384, Manchester, MD 21102.
