Ethel Virginia Hooper, 86, of Manchester passed peacefully Wednesday, April 13, 2016 at the Dove House in Westminster. Born November 19, 1929 in Snydersburg, she was the daughter of the late Russell R. Yingling and Grace Lang Yingling. She was the wife of the late George V. Hooper. She was a secretary for G.V. Hooper, Inc. and Maryland Recycling and Rehandling. She was a volunteer at Long View Nursing Home, Manchester for 25 years. Ethel was a member of Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church in Manchester where she served as church secretary, and in her spare time, she enjoyed her hobbies which included reading, playing cards, and Dominoes with friends and family. She is survived by her daughter Ellen Stickles and husband John of Manchester and her son Wayne Hooper and his wife Donna of Hanover, PA; her brother Maurice Yingling and wife Ruth; her grandchildren Amy Secor and husband Michael, Matthew Smith and wife Amie, Andrea Smith and fiancée Kyle Rebert, Jay Stickles and wife Stephanie, John Stickles, Jr. and wife Kathy; her great-grandchildren Kyle Stickles and wife Sabrina, Savannah Stickles, Coyote Stickles, and Yonahga Stickles; and her great great-grandchildren Ryan Secor, Charlotte Smith, Olivia Smith, and Emma Neal. The family will receive friends 3-5 and 7-9 p.m., Sunday, April 17, 2016 at the ECKHARDT FUNERAL CHAPEL, P.A., 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester and 10 a.m. until the time of the service, 11a.m. Monday, April 18, 2016 at the Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church, 3184 Church Street, Manchester with the Revs. Charles Marshall, Matthew and Norma Schenning officiating. Interment will be in New Lutheran Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mrs. Hooper's name to the Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church, P.O.
