"Gene" Sines, age 75 of Westminster, died on Monday, September 11, 2017 at the Carroll Hospice Dove House. Born August 14, 1942 at St. Joseph Hospital in Baltimore. He was the son of the late Alexis Eugene Sines and Helen Frances (Spencer) Sines DeVage. He was the husband of Judy Lorraine Sines, his wife of 41 years. Gene was a 1960 graduate of Parkville High School, Maryland. He earned an AA degree with honors from Catonsville Community College. In his early years, he managed Sines Moving & Storage Co., owned by his father in Westminster. Later, he began a 38 year career with Random House where he worked in numerous managerial positions which included time in Chicago and a 3 year stint in Avenel, NJ, becoming Director of Distribution Services. He was active in Junior Achievement and CCARP, sitting on various committees. He also was active in real estate and rental properties. He retired in 2004 Gene was a passionate golfer being a member of Wakefield Valley for about 30 years. He won his share of plaques and trophies. He also enjoyed gardening, landscaping, woodworking and photography. He designed extensive additions to his home including the interior cabinetry. He loved his two cats Samantha and Ebony. In addition to his loving wife Judy, he is survived by son, Steven Eugene Sines and wife Leslie of Clare, MI with granddaughter Alexis Sines; son, Theodore Francis Sines and wife Marsha of Dunnellon, FL with granddaughter Ashley Bergeron and husband Blaise; step-daughter Lisa Beaumont and husband Michael of Westminster; grandson Michael W.A. Beaumont and wife Erica of Westminster with great granddaughters Summer Reign and Autumn Brooke that he so treasured. Also survived by sister Olive DeVage and Jerry Dell of Westminster plus numerous nieces & nephews. He was predeceased by sister Grace Green who was of Hanover, PA. Funeral service and interment will be private. Cremation arrangements by Pritts Funeral Home & Chapel, Westminster.
