Eugene J. Pruner, 80, of Fairfield, Pa., died Monday, Jan. 20, 2014.

Born Aug. 29, 1933, in Bloomfield, N.J., he was the son of the late Frank and Agnes Kasmerik Pruner. He was the husband of Barbara Votapek Pruner, his wife of 54 years.

He was employed by the Quaker Oats Co. for many years as a sales manager and later, after his retirement, worked part time for the Country Inn and Suites in Gettysburg, Pa. He served with the Navy during the Korean War.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are daughter Dianne Stadler and husband Bret, of Fairfield, Pa.; grandsons Chase, Garrett and Peyton Stadler; step-grandchildren Megan and Seth Stadler; a brother, Leo P. Pruner, of Florida; and sisters Marion Dietrich, of South Carolina, and Agnes Kearns, of Florida.

He was predeceased by brothers Jimmy and Francis Pruner.

A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated Friday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Fairfield, with his nephew, the Rev. John Dietrich, as celebrant. Interment was private.
