Evalea "Sis" Roach Huwig, 80, of Westminster, died Saturday, June 9, 2012, at Homewood at Plum Creek Health Care Center in Hanover, Pa.

Born July 16, 1931, in Baltimore County, she was the daughter of the late Jacob Allen Bull and Evalea Catherine Smith Bull. She was the wife of John "Jack" Morgan Huwig, who died Feb. 2, 2001.

Before retiring she worked at the Powhatan Mining Co. in Woodlawn from 1951 to 1956, and worked at the A & P in Westminster from 1972 to 1979.

She was a member of Faith Community Bible Church and the Silver Run Homemakers Group.

Surviving are daughters and sons-in-law Susan Huwig Kearney and Gregg R. Kearney, of York, Pa., and S. Jane Huwig Leister and Steve Leister, of Westminster; sisters Dorothy Tebo and Phyllis Stecker, both of Selbyville, Del.; a sister-in-law, Betty Roach, of Reisterstown; grandchildren Rachel S. Backert, Jennifer A. Kearney and John "Jack" Morgan Huwig Leister; and a great-granddaughter, Elliana Backert.

She was predeceased by a sister, Carletta Harryman; and brothers Carroll "Bud" Roach, Jacob Bull Jr. and Bobby Bull.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Fletcher Funeral & Cremation Services, 254 E. Main St., Westminster.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Faith Community Bible Church, 3819 Old Hanover Road, Westminster, with her grandson-in-law, Dr. Christopher Backert, and her pastor, the Rev. John Stiles, co-officiating. Interment will follow in Middletown Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Faith Community Bible Church, 381 Old Hanover Road, Westminster, MD 21158.
