Evelyn Wooten Geelhaar Bloch, 92, died Thursday, March 10, 2016, at Carroll Lutheran Village in Westminster. Born June 9, 1923 in North Carolina, she lived most of her life in Baltimore City. In 1954 she was a founding member of Northside Baptist Church in Baltimore City, and remained an active member into her 90's. She was employed at Bendix Aviation during World War II, and after raising her family worked at St. Joseph's Hospital. She was an active member of the Harford Senior Center and enjoyed working with crafts and flowers. She is survived by a sister, Doris Thompson, children Jacqueline Snelson, Barbara Nelson, and Douglas Geelhaar; grandchildren Beverly Keller, Michael Megenhardt, Martha Nelson, Ben Geelhaar, Lydia Geelhaar, John Snelson and Corey Snelson; great grandchildren Jack Flowers, Maggie Flowers, Eric Megenhardt, and Julian Kelly-Zito, and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 4:00 on Saturday, March 19 at St. John's United Methodist Church, 1205 N. Main St., Hampstead.
