Evelyn Harriet Bladow Gordon, 85, of Westminster, died Thursday, Dec. 6, 2012, at Homewood at Plum Creek in Hanover, Pa.

Born Dec. 9, 1926, in Wisconsin, she was the daughter of Harry and Hanna Bladow. She was married to Thomas S. Gordon for 66 years.

She met her husband at a USO dance in Milwaukee, and they were married on May 30, 1946, in California. In 1948, they purchased Good Luck Farm, where she and her husband raised Black Angus cattle.

She worked for the Port Authority in New York City during World War II, served on the Carroll County Republican Central Committee and was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Manchester.

She enjoyed antique items, gardening, working outdoors and listening to classical music. She was a Washington Redskins and Green Bay Packers fan. She always had pets.

Surviving, in addition to her husband, are son Thomas S. Gordon Jr. and wife Carolyn, of Westminster; siblings Harry Bladow, of Oregon; Robert Bladow, of Wisconsin; and Leonard Bladow, of Illinois; and Laura Moody, of California; grandchildren Thomas S. Gordon III and wife Brianna, of Westminster; and Carrie and husband Richmond Goughneour, of Rock Hill, S.C.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by brothers Leo, Franklin, Harley and Alvin Bladow, and sisters Marion Lawder, Margaret Skipper and Helen Johnson.

A memorial service will be held at noon on Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013, at St. Mark's Lutheran Church-Snydersburg, 1616 Cape Horn Road in Hampstead with the Rev. Michael C. Adams officiating.
