She then moved to the Fairhaven Community in Sykesville in 2000, where she pursued her interests in gardening, music, oil painting and needlework. She spent every summer at the shore in Manasquan, N.J., with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, busy with furniture refinishing projects, flower planting, painting, reading and bird watching by the ocean.

Surviving are son and daughter-in-law Buck and Lynn Lyon-Vaiden, of Hampstead; daughters and son-in-law Nancy and Bill Riddell, of California, Md., Becky Frazier, of San Diego, Calif., and Lucinda Lyon-Vaiden, of Crofton; grandchildren Eric Frazier, Gretchen Frazier, Mark and wife Cassie Lyon-Vaiden, Rick Lyon-Vaiden, Rebecca and husband Marc Briere; and great-granddaughters Shannon, Isabelle and Chloe Briere.
