Evelyn LaRue Grove, 99, of Sykesville, formerly of Westminster, died Saturday, January 10, 2015 at Copper Ridge in Sykesville. Born on November 7, 1915 in Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late James Cleveland and Martha Duffy Gardner. She was the wife of the late James David Grove, her husband of 57 years who predeceased her in August 1995. She had worked in Central Supply at Carroll County General Hospital. She was a member of Westminster United Methodist Church and Friendly Class. She also enjoyed flower gardening and traveling. Surviving her are son and daughter-in-law J. Robert and Joyce A. Grove of Westminster; grandchildren Dr. Christopher T. Grove of Ellicott City, Aaron D. Grove of Westminster, and Sarah E. Caridi of Richmond, VA; and great grandchildren Mia L. Grove, Ava E. Grove, Ian C. Grove, Jonas D. Grove, Ethan W. Grove, and Adelaide E. Caridi. She was predeceased by brothers James V. Gardner and Clarence Gardner. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Pritts Funeral Home and Chapel, 412 Washington Rd., Westminster. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Ken Humbert officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Gardens, Finksburg. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Copper Ridge Institute, C/O Cindy Yingling, 576 Johnsville Rd., Eldersburg, MD 21784 or to , Greater MD Chapter, 1850 York Rd., Suite D, Timonium, MD 21093.
