Evelyn Romaine Eyler, 86, of Westminster, passed away on Monday, February 13, 2017 at Carroll Hospital Center. Born on March 25, 1930 in Pleasant Valley, she was the daughter of the late Clarence Absolom Zepp and Rachel Eliza Devilbiss Zepp. Evelyn had worked with the Carroll Shoe Company in Littlestown for a short period before working as a machine operator with Black and Decker until her retirement. After she retired, Evelyn helped as an assistant on buses with the ARC. Evelyn was a lifetime member of the Pleasant Valley Community Fire Department and Auxiliary. She was also a member of the Westminster Moose Lodge #1381, enjoyed old country music, and loving her dog Toby. Surviving Evelyn are son William O. Eyler and wife Donna L. of Westminster; daughter Kathy Joy and husband Ronald of Westminster; sister Helen Zepp of PA; grandchildren Jaime Kurland and husband Robert and Stacey Eyler; great grandchildren Kaylie Kurland and Aiden Jacob Kurland; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by siblings Berlyn Zepp, Garland Zepp, Clarence Levine Zepp, Edward Zepp, Mary Helwig, Margaret Watson, and Leona Schmick. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 15 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., with the Pleasant Valley Community Fire Department service at 6:30 p.m., and on Thursday February 16 from 10:00 a.m. to the start of funeral services at 11:00 a.m. at Pritts Funeral Home and Chapel, 412 Washington Rd., Westminster, with Rev. Kevin Clementson officiating. Interment will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Evelyn's name to the Pleasant Valley Community Fire Department, 2030 Pleasant Valley Rd., Westminster, MD 21158.
