F. Marie McCabe Jacobs, 87, of Woodbine, formerly of Baltimore, MD-Hill Top area, died Friday, Oct. 25, 2013, at Brinton Woods Nursing Home in Sykesville.

Born Dec. 12, 1925, in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late James Frederick McCabe and the late Hazel May Sanner McCabe. She was the wife of the late George Howard "Jake" Jacobs.

She was a homemaker. She was a member of Elders Baptist Church in Eldersburg, where she was a Sunday school teacher, choir member and a Bible study teacher.

She also was the president resident and Bible study leader at Brinton Woods Nursing Home. She enjoyed spending time with her family. She also raised numerous foster children along with her own.

Surviving are children Howard Jacobs, of Woodbine, Marie Billie Masaberg, of Chambersburg, Pa., Richard Hughes, of Randallstown, Fred Jacobs, of Greencastle, Pa., Bambie Jacobs, of Baltimore, Dwyn Fleischer, of Westminster, and Tina Dekle, of Louisburg, N.C.; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by a sister, Hazel Raiman.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, 1212 W. Old Liberty Road, Winfield.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Elders Baptist Church, 1216 Liberty Road, Sykesville, with the Rev. Jim Edmonson officiating. Interment will be in Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Gamber.
