Florence Miller Foglesong, 89, of Hanover, PA, passed away Monday, December 1, 2014 at the Lutheran Retirement Community at Utz Terrace. Born August 20, 1925 in York, PA, she was the daughter of the late Wilmer D. and Mary (Long) Miller. Florence was the loving wife of the late Luther L. Foglesong who died November 19, 2013 and the late John T. Miller who died August 22, 1976. Florence was a 1942 graduate of York Catholic High School. She worked in the cafeteria at St. Joseph Catholic School for many years and retired from the former Doubleday, Inc. after 10 years of service. Florence was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Hanover, PA, where she was a member of the Altar Rosary Society, the Rosary Making Club, a former Brownie and Girl Scout Leader for Troop 731. Florence is survived by four children; John T. Miller, Jr. of Hanover, PA; Mary A. Bixler of Abbottstown, PA; Robert J. Miller of Alexandria, VA; Christine M. Miller of Lancaster, PA; three step children; Luther A. Foglesong of Westminster, MD, George W. Foglesong of Taneytown, MD, Sharon Shriner of Thurmont, MD, 7 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, one brother; John C. Miller of Dover, PA, and one sister; Hilda Dietz of York, PA. She was preceded in death by one son; Steven Miller, one brother, Richard C. Miller, and one sister, Mary Hoskinson. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 AM, Thursday, December 4, 2014 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 5125 Grandview Road, Hanover, PA with father Stephen Kelley as celebrant. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Basilica Cemetery, Hanover, PA. A viewing and time to share memories with the family will be held from 9 - 11 AM, Thursday, December 4, 2014 at the church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church, 5055 Grandview Road, Hanover, PA 17331. The Kenworthy Funeral Home, Inc., 269 Frederick Street, Hanover, PA has been entrusted by the family with the funeral arrangements.
