Florence Kathleen "Kay" Church, 66, of Manchester, died Thursday, June 6, 2013, at Carroll Hospital Center.

Born July 6, 1946, in Bluefield, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Garland Wiley and Betty Jane Shupe. She was the wife of Ronald Church, her husband of 43 years.

She grew up in Silver Spring and was a 1965 graduate from Montgomery Blair High School.

She was the main desk receptionist at the Carroll County government office building for 20 years, retiring from that position in 2010.

Surviving, in addition to her husband, are children Lisa Lynne Church Breeden and Ronald A. Church Jr.; son-in-law Andrew Breeden; siblings Karen Sipe, of Columbus, Ohio, Jinny Lynn Brooks, of North Beach, David and John Shupe, of Roanoke, Va., Jason Shupe, of Laurel, and Mason Shupe, of Alexandria Va.; and grandchildren Ethan, Chandler, Abby, Hannah and Elijah.

Viewings will be held at from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday and 10 a.m. until noon Tuesday at Eckhardt Funeral Chapel, 3296 Charmil Dr., Manchester.

A memorial service will follow the Tuesday viewing with the Rev. James K. Hamrick officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made at the viewings for Hampstead volunteer fire company's ambulance crew.
