Forrest J. Grogg, 77, of Sykesville, formerly of Randallstown, died Wednesday, July 3, 2013, at Country Care Assisted Living in Westminster.

Born June 3, 1936, in Dunmore, W.Va., he was the son of the late Forrest and Flora Sheets Grogg. He was the husband of Mary Helen Nelson Grogg.

He worked for Social Security Administration as a computer scheduler for 40 years. He also worked at Bethlehem Steel.

He was a coach and umpire for Liberty Road Baseball for more than 30 years. He was a member of the Liberty Road Recreational Parks Council. He served in the Air Force from 1954 until 1959.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are children Teresa Gostomski and husband Tony, of Marriottsville, and Michael Grogg, of Stafford, Va.; siblings Ray and Donald Grogg, of West Virginia, Betty Ware, of Ohio, and Ruth Ann Mullenax, of West Virginia; and grandchildren Claire and Kelly Gostomski.

She was predeceased by nine brothers and sisters.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, 1212 W. Old Liberty Road, Sykesville. A funeral service, with military honors, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, with the Rev. David Collins officiating. Interment will be private.
