The Rev. Foster Perry, 85, of Mount Airy, died Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2013, at Carroll Hospice's Dove House in Westminster.

Born Aug. 29, 1927, in Sneedville, Tenn., he was the son of the late Louis and Shrilda Barnard Perry. He was the husband of the late Margaret A. Perry; and the husband of Mary Livesay Perry, his wife of 22 years.

He had served in the Army during the Korean conflict. He retired as a machinist/supervisor from the Wilkins-Rogers Flour Mill in Ellicott City.

He accepted the Lord as his Savior at the age of 12 at Ida's Chapel in Tennessee. He was ordained as a minister in the Missionary Baptist Church in 1961. He served as pastor of Granite Missionary Baptist Church in Granite, Stoneyridge Missionary Baptist Church in Marriottsville, and at Sharon Missionary Baptist Church in West Friendship. He was a member of Sharon Missionary Baptist Church.

He enjoyed gardening, reading and studying the Bible and spreading God's word.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are son and daughter-in-law Richard and Debbie Perry, of Sykesville; stepdaughters and sons-in-law Judy and Terry Jackman, of Mount Airy, and Darlene and Brian Leaf, of Berkeley Springs, W.Va.; brothers and sisters-in-law Buford and Ruth Perry, of Sykesville, and Robert and Kay Perry, of Jacobs, Pa.; sisters and brother-in-law Joan and Keith Krickler, of Sykesville, and Truman Carrillo, of Santa Cruz, Calif.; grandchildren and spouses Shannon Marie Perry, Tim Jackman and wife Laura, Jason Jackman, Gary Greene and wife Melissa, James D. Greene and wife Debbie White Greene, and Joseph Greene and wife Adrienne; and great-grandchildren Taylor, Kendall, Emma, Garrett, Gavin, Kristen, Joshua, Jackson and Caroline.

He was predeceased by siblings Ace J. Perry and Lucille Gaudett.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, 6416 Sykesville Road, Sykesville.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Sharon Missionary Baptist Church on McKendree Road in West Friendship, with the Rev. Aaron Jones officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
