Frances Jean Schulte, 97, of Woodbine, died Monday, July 9, 2012, at home.

Born Aug. 29, 1914, in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late John Austin Habercam and Hattie Mae Spicer Habercam. She was the wife of William Albert Schulte, who died in 2001.

She an accomplished businesswoman and an avid investor. She was known to have a compassion for orphaned, neglected and at-risk children. She was an animal lover and financial supporter of abused animal charities.

She enjoyed her farm home, and gardened as a life-long hobby.

Surviving are daughter Diane Schulte, of Oxford and fiance Larry Kirkman, of Ashton; a niece, Beverly Anderson Smith, of Sykesville; and an extended family, including many great-great nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by sisters Magdelina H. Irwin, Alice E. Rudolph and Katherine B. Gable.

The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until the time of memorial service, 3 p.m. Sunday at Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, 6416 Sykesville Road, Sykesville. Private interment will be at Loudon Park Cemetery in Baltimore.
