Frances Louise "Babe" Powder, age 78, of Sykesville, died Friday, May 5, 2017, at Carroll Hospice Dove House, Westminster. Born April 29, 1939, in Maryland she was the daughter of the late Herbert L. Bollinger, Sr. and Elsie M. Shipley Bollinger. She was the wife of the late William Edwin "Jake" Powder who died in 2013. Frances enjoyed bird watching, her dog "Chickie" and most especially spending time with her family. She is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Gregory E. and Ginger Powder of Sykesville; daughter and companion, Cathy M. Price and Mr. Duanne Wagner of Glen Arm, daughter and son-in-law, Kimberly L. and Anthony Martinelli of Sykesville and sons-in-law, Ronnie Price of Upperco and Jesse Price of Hanover, PA; brother, Herbert L Bollinger, Jr. of Westminster and step-sisters, Betty Thompson and Micky Gettle; grandchildren, Todd Price, Cami Miller, Courtney Stigler, Casey Work and Mary and Alex Martinelli and great-grandchildren, Riley and Peyton Stigler, Ava, Kai and Chad Work and Sophia Miller. She is also survived by 5 step-grandchildren. She was predeceased by daughter, Sheila Jean Price who died in 2004; brother, William Bollinger; sisters, Elizabeth Reese, Dorothy Rill and Marian Barnes; step-brother, Charlie Rill and step-sisters, Elsie Hoover and Blondie Calp. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 10, 2017, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8pm at Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, 6416 Sykesville Road, Sykesville where a funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 11, 2017, at 11am. Interment will be in Providence Cemetery, Gamber. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Carroll Hospice Dove House, 292 Stoner Avenue, Westminster, MD 21157.
