Frances Marie Baker, 73, of Aspers, Pa., died Saturday, May 26, 2012, at the University Hospital in Baltimore.

Born June 22, 1938, in Olney, she was the daughter of the late Norman Leroy Leatherman and Ludelle Frances Harrison Leatherman. She was the wife of Donald Eugene Baker, her husband of 46 years.

Before retiring she was the seafood manager at Weis Market in Gettysburg, Pa.

In the late 1960s she and her husband operated the Lincoln Park Inn in New Windsor. She was the manager of Westminster Elks Lodge No. 2277 in the 1970s, and she and her husband were the owners and operators of the Spotted Horse Inn and Bradleys Fox Briar Inn in Silver Run.

She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Uniontown, Westminster Elks Lodge and VFW in Harney. She enjoyed being a homemaker, interior designer, cooking and spending time with her family.

Surviving, in addition to her husband, are sons and daughters-in-law Kevin N. and Heidi A. Gillingham, of Aspers, and Bradley L. Baker, of Baltimore; a brother, Paul Leatherman, of Annapolis; sisters Joyce Whitmore, of Annapolis, Shirley Galentine, of Severna Park, Iris Rodgers, of Emmittsburg, Joan Pfieffer, of Dillsburg, Pa., and Doris Jones and Sue Reed, both of Fairfield, Pa.; grandchildren Brooks A. Gillingham and wife Tammi, and Jessi and Kyle Gillingham; a great-granddaughter, Madelyn Gillingham; and friends Mark H. and Graydon C. Hughes.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today, and from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Fletcher Funeral & Cremation Services, 254 E. Main St. Westminster.

A funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with Deacon Charles Barnhart officiating. Interment will be in Lake View Memorial Park.
