Frances A. Rhoten, 73, of Hampstead, died on Monday July 28, 2014 at her son's home in Millers. Born June 22, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Algrude and Gwendolyn Spicer Schaeffer. She was the wife of the late William Carlos Rhoten, Jr., to whom she had been married 49 years. She was a graduate of North Carroll High School and the Lutheran Hospital School of Nursing. She had been an RN at Springfield State Hospital, Carroll County General Hospital and St. Agnes Hospital, prior to retirement. She attended Hampstead Baptist Church. She loved her family, her church, her nursing school classmates, her ex-coworkers from St. Agnes and her ex-classmates from North Carroll High School. Surviving are sons and daughters-in-law, William C. Rhoten, III and Judith Rhoten, Andrew E. Rhoten and Ruth Reeves and Jeffrey D. Rhoten and Michelle Rhoten; granddaughters, Meagan Marie Rhoten & fiance Brian Wilson, Shelby M. Rhoten, Tiffany F. Rhoten, Danielle K. Rhoten; grandsons, Shane C. Rhoten, William C. Rhoten IV, Michael Young & wife Debbie, David Young; great-grandson, Brenttyn Chase Menikhein; sisters & brothers-in-law, Myrtle & Henry vonStaden, Elaine & Harold Brothers, and Ruth & Aaron Green. Also survived by many nieces & nephews. The family will receive friends at ELINE FUNERAL HOME, 934 S. Main Street, Hampstead , on Thursday, July 31, 2014 from 3-5 & 7-9 p.m.. Memorial services will be held on Saturday at 12:00 noon at Eline Funeral Home , with Pastor Chris Brammer officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Zion UMC Cemetery . In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Hampstead Baptist Church, P.O. Box 95, Hampstead, MD 21074 or to Carroll Hospice, 292 Stoner Ave., Westminster, MD 21157.
