Francis "Lee" Barnes, 68, of Manchester, died Sunday morning, Jan. 20, 2013, at his residence.

Born Dec. 29, 1944, in Hanover, Pa., he was the son of the late Louise Rebecca Logue and Vernon H. Barnes Jr. He was the husband of Patricia Ann Barnes.

He was a veteran of the Army and had served in Vietnam. He worked for Black and Decker, Good Year and the Carroll County Board of Education. He enjoyed playing rummy, shooting pool, darts, horseshoes and recycling collectables.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are son and daughter-in-law Joseph H. and Serenia Barnes, of Swansboro, N.C.; daughters and son-in-law Janet Louise and Jason Sprinkle, of Hanover, Pa., Amy Elaine Barnes, of Westminster, Samantha K. Barnes, of Reisterstown, and Allyson Lea Barnes, of Manchester; stepdaughters Tina Antkowiak, of Hanover, and Ronda Rowles,of Taneytown; a brother, Alfred E. Barnes, of Westminster; grandchildren Tyler, Grace, Hailey and Harley Barnes, Cheyenne and Charles "Wyatt" Sprinkle, Nate Rowles and Lexi Antkowiak; and numerous aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was predeceased by brothers James Vernon and Paul B. Barnes; a sister-in-law, Rebecca G. Barnes; and a granddaughter, Alyssa Ann Sprinkle.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Fletcher Funeral & Cremation Services, 254 E. Main St., Westminster.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Joey Heath, of Stone Chapel United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will follow at Stone Chapel Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be offered to set up a trust fund for daughter Allyson Lee Barnes: PNC Bank, c/o Allyson Lea Barnes, 406 Englar Road, Westminster, MD 21157.
