Francis "Reds" Stonebraker, age 91, of Sykesville, passed away on Friday, July 14, 2017, at Carroll Hospice's Dove House. Born March 13, 1926, in Washington, DC he was predeceased by his mother, Janice Stonebraker. He was the husband of the late Margaret Alder Stonebraker who died in 2011. Reds had worked in the telephone industry for many years; working for C& P Telephone Co. AT&T and Bell Atlantic where he had been a lineman, cable splicer and installer. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. Reds was raised at the Strawbridge Home for Boys from 1930-43. He was a member of the American Legion, VFW and the Moose, Elks and Eagles lodges. He is survived by his son, Gary E. Stonebraker of Frederick, grandson, Richard E. Stonebraker and nephew, Steve Alder of Finksburg. He was predeceased by daughter, Susan L. Stonebraker and brother, Donald Stonebraker. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, July 19, 2017 at 1pm at Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, 6416 Sykesville Road, Sykesville. Private interment will be in Garrison Forest Cemetery, Owings Mills.
