Francis Martin "Dick" Myers, died on Sunday, January 14, 2018 at Frederick Memorial Hospital. He was born in 1932 in Taneytown, Md. he was the son of Marian Frances Myers, and raised by his Aunt and Uncle, Helen and Walter Reaver. He graduated from Taneytown High School, Class of 1949, the last year under the 11 year system in Carroll County. He served in the U.S. Army Signal Corp. from 1952-1954, serving in Camp Gordon, Georgia and Seoul Korea. In 1959 he was a charter member of the Penn Township Lions Club, a charter member of the Eastern Motor Sports Press Association, member of the Westminster Lions Club, and Past Commander and First All American Commander of Post 467 and District 7 of the VFW. He was a professional photographer, weddings and portraits for 49 years, and owner of Myers 140 Photo for 19 years. He enjoyed photography, auto racing, family gatherings, his dogs, gardening, and trips to Atlantic City. He is survived by son, Cary C. Myers and wife Jill, of Westminster. 3 grand-children, Madison, Christian, and Seth, all of Westminster, sister and brother-in-law Doris and Wayne Staley of Taneytown, cousin Betty Graham of Davenport, Fl., nephew, Gary Myers and great nephew Troy Myers of Taneytown. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, January 20, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at Fletcher Funeral and Cremation Services, 254 E. Main Street, Westminster with Pastor Steven Ostendorf, officiating. Interment will be in Grace United Church of Christ Cemetery in Taneytown, with Military Honors. The family will receive friends on Friday, January 19, 2018 from 5 to 8 p.m. and Saturday, January 20, 2018 from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Westminster Lions Club.
