Francis C. Wolfinger, 93, of Hampstead, died on Tuesday October 21, 2014 at Long View Nursing Home, Manchester, MD. Born May 23, 1921 in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late Charles and Anna (Kasper) Wolfinger. He was the husband of Mildred L. (Starkey) Wolfinger, to whom he had been married 71 years. He served in the Army Air Corps during WWII as a B24 bomber pilot and had been a plant manager in a factory prior to his retirement. Mr. Wolfinger was a member of St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church. Surviving in addition to his wife are sons, Robert Wolfinger of Manassas, VA, John Wolfinger of Punta Gorda, FL, Steve Wolfinger of Atascadero, CA; daughter, Jane Bretthauer of Bangor, ME; brother, Jack Wolfinger of HiNella, NJ. Also survived by five grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, November 1, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at ELINE FUNERAL HOME, 934 S. Main Street, Hampstead, with Pastor George E. Tuttle officiating. Flowers are welcomed, or if desired, memorial donations may be made to St. Mark's Lutheran Church, P.O. Box 249, Hampstead, MD 21074.
