Frank Grafton Grimes, Jr., 68 of Woodbine, MD passed away on Friday, January 19, 2018 at Carroll County Hospital Center. He was born July 6, 1949, in Randallstown, MD the son of the late Frank G. (Smokey) Grimes Sr. and the late Teresa (nee Nickoles) Grimes. Frank was the loving husband to Gaye L. Grimes (nee Fleming) for 30 years. He graduated from Mt. Airy High School in 1967, and then served in the United States Army from 1969-1971 with one tour of duty in Vietnam from November 1969 to November 1970. Frank worked for the State of Maryland's Division of Corrections, which he retired from in 1999. He was a member of the Mt. Airy American Legion Post 191, Winfield Community Fire Department and Vietnam Veterans of America. He loved being outdoors, hunting, Fishing and especially playing golf. He enjoyed his cabin and property on Middle Mountain, Petersburg, WV for 32 years. Frank is also survived by his son Frank G. Grimes, III and wife Shanna, grandchildren Noah and Claire, and son William R. Grimes and wife Kathy. Loving brother to Buddy and wife Pam Grimes and Joe Grimes. Also survived by 4 nieces and 3 nephews. The Family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 23, 2018 from 3 -5 and 7-9 PM at the Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, P.A. 1212 W. Old Liberty Rd. Winfield, MD, 21784 (Beside South Carroll High School). Where Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Gary Koontz of Zion Lutheran Church of Baker, WV. Officiating. Interment Morgan Chapel Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Morgan Chapel Cemetery, Inc. C/O Alice Scott 1725 Gillis Falls Rd. Woodbine, MD 21797.
