Franklin Hoover "Frank" Putman, 83, of Sykesville, died Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2013, at Copper Ridge.

Born April 12, 1929, in Ijamsville, he was the son of the late Emma B. Ramsburg Putman and Archie S. Putman. He was the husband of Rose Anna Putman, who died Jan. 15, 2005.

He was a self-employed painter. He served in the Army and National Guard. He was a member of Moose Lodge No. 1381 and American Legion Carroll Post No. 31.

Surviving are sons and daughters-in-law Donald D. and Peggy Putman, of Sykesville, and Glenn F. and Dove Putman, of Charlotte, N.C.; brother and sister-in-law Donald and Evelyn Putman, of York, Pa.; and numerous cousins.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Fletcher Funeral & Cremation Services, 254 E. Main St., Westminster.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Meadow Branch Cemetery.
