Freda Elaine Condon, 89, of Woodbine, died Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2013, at Carroll Hospital Center.

Born Nov. 17, 1923, in Woodbine, she was the daughter of the late William and Laura Chaney Baile. She was the wife of the late Ralph D. Condon, who died in 2008, to whom she was married for 65 years.

Serving as office manager for the Home Furniture Company in Sykesville for more than 25 years, she was with the company until it closed.

She was a member of the Mt. Olive United Methodist Church for more than 53 years where she was the organist.She served on many committees and was the long-time treasurer of the United Methodist Women.

She was a member of the Mt. Airy 55 Plus Club and the Red Hat Society of Mt. Airy. She was an avid knitter and crocheter and created projects that she contributed yearly to the church's bazaar.

She produced quilts each year for the Mt. Olive Senior Citizens, of which she was a founding member. She enjoyed cooking and baking pies and cakes for family and friends. She was an avid Baltimore Orioles fan.

Surviving are daughters Linda and husband Raymond Conaway, of Taylorsville, and Alice Scott, of Woodbine; grandsons Ryan and wife Jennifer Conaway, Brant and wife Heidi Conaway; great-grandchildren Lauren, Meghan, Austin, and Carson Conaway, with whom she was known as GG; many nieces and nephews; and devoted friend, Wayne Arrington.

She was predeceased in death by her sister, Agnes Baile.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday.at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home and Crematory, P.A., 1212 W. Old Liberty Rd. Winfield, MD 21784.

A funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday the funeral home with the Pastor Lynne Humphries-Russ officiating. Interment will be in Morgan Chapel Cemetery in Woodbine.
