Freda Roxann (Slaughter) Moody, 60, of Westminster, was called home on Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at her home. Born on September 4, 1956 in Brooklyn, NY, she was the daughter of the late Della Bernice Brown) Slaughter and the late Frederick Douglas Slaughter. Freda graduated from Westminster High School, class of 1974, after which, she had a brief stint as a model with Barbizon Modeling Agency before marrying Richard Moody, 63, of Westminster. Freda was formerly employed for 27 years at Random House before moving to Atlanta in 2004 where she made a host of friends before moving back to Maryland in 2014. Freda was an active member at Union Street United Methodist Church and also loved shopping and fashion. Surviving Freda are daughter Brandi Moody of Westminster; son and daughter-in-law Richard "Rico" Moody II and Brittany Chase of Owings Mills; granddaughters Nya Moody of Westminster and Kaelyn and Khloe Moody of Owings Mills; brother and sister-in-law Frederick and Wendy Slaughter of Westminster; sister and brother-in-law Roxie and Joe Allen of CA; sisters Teria Galanos and Mona L. Slaughter of Westminster; faithful companion Richard Moody of Westminster; and a host of nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by sisters Helen "Pinky" Kay and Daisy "Sue" Wright. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 21 from 11:00 a.m. until the start of the Going Home Service at 1:00 p.m. at Westminster United Methodist Church, 165 E. Main St., Westminster with Rev. Kathy Duppins-Smallwood officiating. Interment will be in St. James Strawbridge Cemetery, New Windsor. Memorial contributions may be made in Freda's name to Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma at , www.lls.org. Arrangement are by Pritts Funeral Home and Chapel, 412 Washington R., Westminster.
