Frederick "Ted" Rothert, 97, died Friday, Aug. 17, 2012, at Long View Nursing Home in Manchester, after a brief illness.
Born Nov. 8, 1914, in Poseyville, Ind., he was the son of the late Louis Henry Rothert and Amelia Smith Rothert. He was the husband of Amy Alexander Rothert, his wife of 67 years.
He was a graduate of Purdue University and an Army veteran of World War II, having served in France, England and Germany attached to the 30th General Hospital. He was a longtime resident of Baltimore and Ocean Pines.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are daughters Judith Eckenrode, of Manchester, and Donna Rothert, of Reston, Va.; grandsons John Eckenrode, of Felton Del., Adam Farver, of Ocean Pines, and Andrew Farver, of New York City; five great-grandsons; one great-granddaugher; and a friend, Terry Squires.
He was predeceased by a sister, Mary Margaret Brunner; and a brother, Louis Rothert.
A private memorial service will be held for the family.
