Frieda O. Haschert, 95, Westminster died on Sunday, November 13, 2016 at Carroll Hospice Dove House. She was born in Baltimore on January 3, 1921 and was the daughter of the late Howard C. Overman Sr. and Carrie (Luber) Overman. She was the wife of C. Walter Haschert, her husband of 71 years. Frieda was a graduate of Eastern High School in Baltimore. During World War II she began her working career as a secretary at L. Grief and Brothers, and then went to work at at Westminster West Middle School as a secretary for 15 years until her retirement in 1983. She received a pin for her volunteer work that she proudly did during WWII as a nurses' aid for Church Home and Hospital. In her younger years she was very active in Luther League and Choir as well as teaching Sunday school in Baltimore. She was active as a 4-H leader and scout den mother; but her passion in life was her family, and she most enjoyed entertaining them at large family dinners during the holidays. Surviving in addition to her husband are son Robert C. Haschert and wife Edie of Westminster, son David C. Haschert and wife Dorothy of Littlestown, PA, daughter Joyce Haschert Blank and husband Thomas of Arlington, VA, son Donald C. Haschert and wife Mary Anne of Harrisburg, PA; 7 grandchildren and their spouses, four step-grandchildren and their spouses, 12 great-grandchildren, 2 step-great grandchildren, 1 great-great-granddaughter;1 great-great-grandson; and 3 nieces and 4 nephews. She was predeceased by brother Howard C. Overman and his wife Nyla, and sister Caroline A. Overman. All funeral services are private for family members. Arrangements by Pritts Funeral Home & Chapel.
