Garrick Andrew Lackey, 21, of Littlestown, Pa., died Saturday, Nov. 23, 2013, at Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Jefferson Hills, Pa.

Born July 30, 1992, in Washington, D.C., he was the son of Richard L. and Pamela R. Gann Lackey, of Littlestown. He was the companion of Sarah Schumaker, of Littlestown.

He was a 2010 graduate of Littlestown High School and a senior at California University of Pennsylvania. He had earned two degrees in philosophy and political science, and was finishing his creative writing degree.

He attended United Methodist Church in California, Pa. He lettered in soccer and was in the marching Blue Band in high school. He was vice president of student council in college, and was a member of the Student Activities Board and of the Ultimate Frisbee Club. He was an Eagle Scout in Troop 84 and was on the dean's list every semester in college. He was a tissue donor.

Surviving, in addition to his parents, are maternal grandparents Billy and Gladys Gann, of Harker Heights, Texas; paternal grandparents Brenda S. Snider and Roby Frank Lackey, both of Statesville, N.C.; brother Robert W. Lackey and wife Lauren, of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; sisters Marlee A. Lackey, of Littlestown, and Kimberlee Clapsaddle and husband Phillip, of Shippensburg, Pa.; and a nephew, Nicholas Clapsaddle.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Bethel Assembly of God, 1125 Frederick Pike, Littlestown.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church, with the Rev. Mark Rohnke, of Missionary Bible Baptist Church in Hanover, and the Rev. Alex Martini, of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Littlestown,, officiating.
