Geneva "Genie" Foreman, 91, passed away on Tuesday, December 27, 2016, at Integrace Fairhaven in Sykesville. Born July 9, 1925 in Norfolk, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Elsie Bradshaw Davidson. She was the wife of the late Leonard C. Foreman, who died July 9, 1999. She spent the first 5 years of her life in a boarding home for toddlers in Norfolk before moving to Baltimore to be with her mother. She attended Eastern High School and worked as a telephone operator for the C&P Telephone Company, Crown, Cork and Seal and Sinai Hospital in Baltimore. She moved to Carroll County in 1968 and did volunteer work at Carroll County Hospital for many years. She lived at Carroll Lutheran Village for 2 years before moving to Fairhaven in 2008. She was a member of the Church of the Open Door and the Super Sixties. She is survived by her friend and caregiver, Joyce Lindsey of Mt. Airy, MD, friend, Kay Whited of Gate City, VA and cousins, Wanda Berkowitz of Katy, TX, Millie Capone of Edgewater, MD and Floyd Bradshaw of Chester, VA. Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 2, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. at the Fletcher Funeral & Cremation Services, P.A., 254 East Main Street, Westminster, Maryland, with the Rev. John Campbell officiating. Visitation will be held from 10 to 11:00 A.M. prior to the service. Interment will follow at Lakeview Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Church of the Open Door, 550 Baltimore Blvd., Westminster, MD 21157.
