Genevieve B. "Gen" Scriba Miller, 95, formerly of Catonsville, died Wednesday, May 8, 2013, at St. Joseph's Nursing Home in Catonsville.

Born May 5, 1918, in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Genevieve Dove Scriba. She was the wife of the late Grant W. Miller Sr.

She spent most of her life in Catonsville raising six children, with the exception of the time living in France while her husband was serving in the military. She was employed by Kirk-Stieff Silver Company as a retail associate and worked a number of years in retail at The Hecht Company.

She was an avid writer who enjoyed passing on her memories of her younger days living in Baltimore, having one of her pieces reprinted in the Baltimore Sun paper. She was an active member of St. Joseph's Monastery, assisting in the various church activities. She spent her final days in the care of the sisters at St. Joseph's Nursing Home in Catonsville.

Surviving are sons Dennis Miller and wife Kathlyn, Gregory Miller and wife Renee, Grant W. "Woody" Miller Jr. and ex-wife Marie Miller, Kevin Miller and wife Mary; daughter Mary Margaret Schrieffer and husband Jeffery; 15 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased a daughter, Elizabeth Ann Ehrhart

Friends may call from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, 1212 W. Old Liberty Road, Sykesville.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Crestlawn Memorial Gardens in Marriottsville.
