George H. Kelso, 71, of Sykesville, died Tuesday, June 25, 2013, at Carroll Hospital Center in Westminster.

Born Jan. 2, 1942, in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late Samuel B. and Miriam E. Marquart Kelso. He was the husband of Margaret L. Dickens Kelso.

He had worked as an assistant director of IT Resources for Montgomery College. He was an avid Hallmark ornament collector and longtime blood donor to the American Red Cross. He enjoyed traveling and sightseeing, NASCAR, Star Wars and Elvis. He was a member of the former Freedom Jaycees.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are sons and daughter-in-law Jason C. Kelso, of Philadelphia, and Jordan D. and Heather H. Kelso, of Columbia; a daughter, Julie L. Kelso, of Timonium; and grandchildren Tyler Jonas Berry-Kelso, Ava Evelyn Kelso and Everett Heath Kelso.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday and from 10 a.m. until the time of service, 11 a.m. Monday at Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, 6416 Sykesville Road, Sykesville. Interment will follow in Lake View Memorial Park in Sykesville.
