George Horner, 82, of Sykesville, died Wednesday, Aug. 7, 2013, at Season's Hospice at Northwest Hospital.

Born Feb. 3, 1931, in Baltimore, he was the son of the late George John Horner Sr. and Anna German Horner. He was the husband of Arlene F. Horner, his wife of 61 years.

He was a machinist. He enjoyed hunting and was an avid fisherman. He also liked spending time with his family.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are children Judith Horner, of Shrewsbury, Pa., and James, Jeffrey and Jerome Horner, all of Sykesville; sister and brother-in-law Annette and Bernard Zuchowski, of Baltimore; and grandchildren Krystal Patton and Kellie Horner, both of Westminster, and Michael Horner, of Sykesville.

A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Haight Funeral Home and Chapel, 6416 Sykesville Road, Sykesville.
