George "Bud" Leonard Walter, 89, of Manchester, and formerly of Westminster, passed away on Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at Carroll Hospital Center. Born October 9, 1926 in MD, he was the son of the late Leonard and Lesney (Heintzman) Walter. Twice married, he was the husband of the late Ruth Nelson Walter and Loraine Crickard Walter. He loved old trains and drove a truck for Southern States Coop. and was also a part-time farmer. He had been a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Upperco. Surviving are 4 nieces and 3 nephews, great nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Vernon Walter and sisters, Mary Burk and Grace Yox. The family will receive friends on Monday, May 9, 2016, 10:00 am - 11:00 am at ELINE FUNERAL HOME, 934 S. Main Street, Hampstead, MD. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 am, with Rev. Michael C. Adams officiating. Interment will be in St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery, Arcadia. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to Westminster Rescue Mission, P.O. Box 285, Westminster, MD 21158.
