The Rev. George N. Clayman, 87, of Salisbury, died Thursday, May 2, 2013, in Salisbury.

Born April 13, 1926, in Bristol, Tenn., he was the son of the late Flanders S. and Mollie Elizabeth Harbour Clayman. He was the husband of the late Ida Mae Clayman.

He was a retired Presbyterian minister. He was the founding minister for Chestertown Presbyterian Church in Chestertown and Kirkwood Presbyterian Church in Springfield, Va. He also shepherded congregations in the Baltimore metropolitan area at Springfield Presbyterian Church in Sykesville, Granite Presbyterian Church in Woodstock and Laurel Presbyterian Church in Laurel.

Surviving are daughters Carol Woody and Mary Barlow; and granddaughters Elizabeth Ayers and Melissa Helton.

Friends may call from 1 to 3 p.m. Thursday at Haight Funeral Home, 6416 Sykesville Road, Sykesville. Visitation will be followed by a graveside service at the Springfield Cemetery in Sykesville.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Wicomico Presbyterian Church in Salisbury.
