George Rubin Conaway, 90, of Woodbine, died Friday, Jan. 11, 2013, at Carroll Hospice's Dove House.

Born Nov. 20, 1922, in Winfield, he was the son of the late Arthur R. Conaway and the late Ethel Barnes Conaway. He was the husband of the late Sarah Jane Zepp Conaway.

He was a self-employed painter.

He was a member of the AMVETS, Westminster Moose, Eagles Club and Morgan Chapel United Methodist Church. He enjoyed bowling, dancing, refinishing furniture, coin collecting and birds.

Surviving are daughters Jean Lamana, of Lutherville, Bonnie and husband Richard Allain, of Otterville, Mo., and Debbie and husband Dennis Burgan, of Williamsport; a stepdaughter, LaRue Mann, of Hanover, Pa.; grandchildren Lisa Good, Jennifer Boone, Sandra Ray, Ryan Lamana, Brittany Burgan; step-grandchildren Kim Manning and Michael Mann; nine great-grandchildren; and a friend, Evelyn Eyler.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, 1212 W. Old Liberty Road, Winfield.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Morgan Chapel Cemetery in Woodbine.
