George "Donald" Strevig, 86, of Westminster, died Friday, April 19, 2013, at his residence after a three-year illness.

Born April 16, 1927, in Meadow Branch, he was the son of the late Mary A. McGee and George F. Strevig. He was the husband of Betty E. Strevig, his wife of more than 59 years.

He worked as a truck driver for 62 years. He was a lifetime member of Westminster United Methodist Church.

He enjoyed traveling and drawing. He also enjoyed the outdoors.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are children Donna Lindsay and husband Fred, of San Bernardino, Calif., Mark D. Strevig and wife Disa, of Westminster, David J. Strevig, of Westminster, Lisa A. Strevig and fiancé Bryan L. Howard, of Taneytown, Amy L. Dorsey and husband Tim, of Westminster, and Lynn Black and husband Paul, of Hampstead; daughter-in-law Rosalie Fields, of Hampstead; twin sister Betty Stonesifer, of Union Mills; 17 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and another great-grandchild on the way.

He was predeceased by son Allen E. Fields.

A celebration of life service will be held at a later date.

Cremation arrangements were made by Fletcher Funeral & Cremation Services in Westminster.
