George Thomas "Tom" Legore, 71, of Finksburg passed away at his home November 4, 2017. Born March 19, 1946 in Hanover, PA, he was the son of the late Nevin Walter Legore and Catharine (Hurst) Wetzel. He was the husband of 48 years to Mary Blanche (Crumbie) Legore. Tom was a graduate of Westminster High School and was a Personnel Manager for 3M for 38 years. He served in the National Guard. Tom's passion in life was the Civil War, and he enjoyed many years of being a Civil War reenactor. Tom was the author of "Just South of Gettysburg", and in 2003 he helped provide historical facts in Newt Gingrich's book "Gettysburg- A Novel of the Civil War". He was a former member of the Westminster Civil War Round Table. Tom loved antiques and visiting Amish Country with his wife. He was involved with the Union Mill Homestead from the time of his teenage years and throughout his life. In addition to his wife Tom is survived by his brother Conrad "Lee" Legore and his wife Jean of Westminster; niece Julie Keller and her husband Jason; and great-niece Allie Clare Keller. The family will receive friends on Thursday, November 9th at Pritts Funeral Home, 412 Washington Road, Westminster, from 10:00 a.m. until the start of the funeral at 11:00 a.m., with Rev. Marty Kuchma officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, in Gettysburg.
