George Wesley Lee, Sr., 82, of Westminster passed away on Sunday, October 16, 2016 at Brightview Westminster Ridge. George was born on May 4, 1934 in Accident, Maryland and was the son of the late William Playford and Marie (nee Broadwater) Lee. He was the beloved husband of the late Catherine Marie Lee, who predeceased him in 1997. George attended University of Baltimore, where he graduated with a Bachelor Degree in Accounting. He worked as an accountant for Reliable Churchill, and also had his own business doing taxes. George was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Deer Park; and a former member for 22 years at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Randallstown, where he served as treasurer and was on the church council . He was an avid hunter and taught hunter safety. George was a Scout Master for Troop 800 and also served on the scout council. Surviving him are daughters Deborah Rutter and husband James of Hanover, PA, Linda Blake of Eldersburg, Nancy Baker and husband Rodney of Lewes, DE; many grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by son George Wesley Lee, Jr. in 2004; and brothers Bill Lee, Herb Lee, and Elmer Lee . The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 19, 2016 from 2 to 5 p.m. at Pritts Funeral Home & Chapel, 412 Washington Rd., Westminster. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, October 20, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, 833 Deer Park Rd., Westminster, with his pastor, Rev. Dahl Drenning, officiating. Interment will be in St. Paul Lutheran Church Cemetery, in Accident, MD. Memorial donations may be made in his name to Brightview Westminster Ridge, 505 High Acre Dr, Westminster, MD 21157.
