Gladys Nevada "Penny" Reinhardt, 81, of Westminster, died Thursday, Jan. 10, 2013, at her home.

Born Dec. 3, 1931, in Abingdon, Va., she was the daughter of the late David S. and Carrie Osborne Pennington.

She attended Charles Carroll School and graduated from Westminster High School in 1949. She worked as a secretary, retiring from Crownsville State Hospital.

She was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose, the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion, where she also served as secretary. She enjoyed traveling, listening to music and playing cards with friends.

Surviving are companion Charles W. Stem, of Westminster; sister Violet Flickinger, of Hanover, Pa.; niece Penny Pettie, of Westminster; nephews David Pennington, of Westminster; and Steve Pennington, of Florida; several great-nieces and great-nephews and many friends, including Melissa Henniger and Mike Kempa and family.

She was predeceased by brother Larry Pennington and sisters Madeline Irvin and Charlotte Saxon.

She was cremated, per her wishes. There will be no public visitation. A private graveside service and celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
