Glen F. Pritchett, Jr., of Mount Airy, passed away on April 4, 2018 at Frederick Memorial Hospital.  He was 72.  Glen was born on September 29, 1945 in New Orleans, LA to Gloria Osborne Pritchett and Glen F. Pritchett, Sr.  Being a Navy family, they moved several times before settling in Coronado, CA.  Glen graduated from Coronado High School in 1963.  He attended Arizona State University, where he studied architecture, and later served four years in the U.S. Coast Guard. In 1983 Glen moved to Maryland and eventually started a life and employee benefits insurance brokerage business, Glen F. Pritchett and Sons, a name chosen to honor his late father who had used that name for his own agency in CA. Glen was passionate about being of service to his clients, and enjoyed longtime relationships with them. Over the years he employed a number of young people and took great pride in providing business experience for them, mentoring, and witnessing their growth.  He retired in 2005. Glen was a kid at heart. He had a wonderful sense of humor and loved model airplanes and trains.  His interest in genealogy took him on multiple road trips, enabling him to discover countless pieces of family history, and also enjoyed helping others with their own genealogical research. In his younger years, he was an avid golfer and later enjoyed being a tournament spectator from the comfort of his home. He followed the business and stock market news daily, and had a keen interest in local, national and world events. Glen fiercely loved his family and served as provider, protector and all around advisor.  He is survived by his wife, Betsy Lindquist Pritchett; his son, Wesley S. Pritchett; his son and daughter- in-law, Seth W. and Carmen Nina Pritchett; his daughter and son-in-law, Cara and Raymond W. Keller, Jr., Grandchildren, Elise, Noah, Gloria and Tobin Pritchett, brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Margaret Pritchett; and extended family he loved and appreciated. A private memorial service will take place on May 19th 2018. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Libertytown Volunteer Fire Department or the Mt. Airy Volunteer Fire Company, two organizations who have been there for him in his times of need. Libertytown Volunteer Fire Department "In Memory of Glen F. Pritchett" P.O.
