Glenna Louise Boller, age 93, of Sykesville, passed away, Monday, February 9, 2014, at Fairhaven, Sykesville. Born May 15, 1921, near Thurmont, MD, she was the daughter of the late Lester Fisher and Cora Stambaugh Fisher. She was the loving wife for 51 years of the late G. Wilbur Boller who passed away in 1991. Glenna moved to Gaither, MD, shortly after her marriage and enjoyed life in this small community for over 65 years. She, along with her husband, owned and operated Boller's General Store. She had been the Gaither Postmaster for 30 years. A devoted member of Gaither United Methodist Church, Glenna taught Sunday School for many years. She was known as a passionate volunteer throughout the Carroll County community. She received numerous local and state awards in recognition for her commitment. Glenna was a charter member of the Freedom District Lioness Club and the South Carroll Lioness Lions Club; receiving the Melvin Jones Fellow Award fir dedicated humanitarian service. Family, always played an important part in her life and she loved preparing elaborate meals during the holidays. Glenna enjoyed traveling, visiting 42 countries and all 50 states. She is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Janet and Denton Boyd of Westminster; son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Sandy Boller of Savage, daughter-in-law, Donna Engle of Westminster and grandchildren, Renee, Diana, Amanda, Jessica, Ginger, Jeff and Chrissy. She is also survived by 10 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, Ronald Boller. The family will receive friends on Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM at the Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, 6416 Sykesville Road, Sykesville where a funeral service will be held on Saturday at 10 AM with her pastors, Rev. Dr. Terri Rae Chattin and Rev Dr. Doug Tzan. Interment will be in Blue Ridge Cemetery, Thurmont. Those desiring may make memorial donations to Gaither United Methodist Church, 7710 Gaither Road, Sykesville, MD 21784.
